演講大綱:
Academic careers depend largely on individual publication records. Successful publications bring attention to scholars and their sponsoring institutions, which can help continued funding and their careers. However, the pressure to publish has also been linked to the replication crisis in academia, cited as a cause of poor work being submitted to academic journals. To get published is especially important for early career scholars who have the ambition but lack the experience of successfully publishing their work. In this talk, the editor of the journal Democratization will discuss why, where, how and with whom to publish; how the peer review process works and what are the dos and dont’s in academic publishing.
